The David Maus Foundation will hold its 5th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday, May 18th at the award winning Champions Gate Golf Club and Resort to benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses of Central Florida and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is the Title Sponsor of the event for the third consecutive year.

Since 2005 the David Maus Foundation has held an annual Celebrity Golf Tournament to raise money for charitable organizations dedicated to helping children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Last year’s golf tournament raised $115,000 for the Florida Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald Houses and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

“This year marks a significant point for our foundation because we have been fortunate enough to contribute to such amazing charities over five years. We love these two charities we are sponsoring, especially the Ronald McDonald House because we see the impact they make in the lives of children and their families. We are honored to help them,” said David Maus, Chairman of the Board.

The event begins on Sunday, May 17th in the event at the ChampionsGate Clubhouse for a “Meet the Pros” event where guests will enjoy food, entertainment, a Silent Auction and the chance to meet the Celebrity players. On Monday, May 18th, participants can register, take part in a Pro Golfer Clinic and a shotgun start at 8:30am.

Thanks to our Celebrity Players volunteering their time and the sponsors who make this event a success, the David Maus Foundation has been able to underwrite two rooms at the Ronald McDonald Houses, taking away the worry of overnight costs so families can spend precious time with their child in the hospital.

DAVID MAUS FOUNDATION SUPPORTS RIDE FOR THE CHILDREN

The David Maus Foundation participated in the 12th Annual Ride for the Children event in Daytona Beach, Florida to raise funds and awareness for Camp Boggy Creek, an camp created for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

The event began on October 14, 2006 with a Pre-Ride Party for all sponsors and Ride participants to enjoy an evening of dinner and entertainment at one of Daytona Beach’s elite hotel, the Daytona Beach Hilton. The next day riders from all over the country got on their motorcycles and rode for the cause. The David Maus Foundation was honored to be a part of this event as everyone came together to raise funds for such an outstanding organization.

Camp Boggy Creek is a year round camp for seriously ill children and offer weeklong summer sessions for the children and family retreat weekends for the whole family. There is no charge to the children or families who come to Boggy Creek. The Mission of Camp Boggy Creek is to enrich the lives of children who have chronic or life threatening illnesses by creating camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.

In 1995, Bruce Rossmeyer, owner of Daytona Harley-Davidson became involved with Camp Boggy Creek. After visiting this amazing Camp for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses, he pledged to raise $1,000,000 within ten years. Thanks to the support and help from so many motorcycle enthusiasts and sponsors such as the Foundation, over $2,000,000 has been generated since inception.

The David Maus Foundation honored Camp Boggy Creek during its 1st Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament in 2005, raising over $20,000 for the charity and bringing awareness to the need children with life-threatening illnesses have to be in a camp style environment with other children.

 

DAVID MAUS FOUNDATION ANNOUCES BRUNCH WWE SUPERSTARS

The David Maus Foundation donated a check for $47,500 to the Make A Wish Foundation of Central and North Florida today at the star-studded Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch presented by the David Maus Foundation and the WWE.

WWE Superstars such as Batista, Rey Mysterio, Jimmy Hart and Candice Michelle as well as entertainment Celebrity Raven Symone were guests of the Brunch at the Rosen Centre Hotel speaking with the fans and meeting the 50 Make A Wish families from all across the country.

The Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch was originally created to give fans a chance to view their favorite wrestlers in a more informal session and ask questions of various WWE Superstars while enjoying a delicious brunch. Since its inception, the brunch also recognizes the WWE Circle of Champions, children with life-threatening illnesses who attend WrestleMania through various wish-granting agencies, especially the Make A Wish Foundation.

“This was one of the best events we have ever put together. The smiles on the faces of these children was incredible and we were thrilled to make it an event they will remember forever,” said David Maus, Chairman of the Board.

The WWE flew in 50 Make A Wish children from the 50 U.S. states whose wish was to either meet a specific wrestler or go to WrestleMania. The David Maus Foundation stepped in to provide the children with a fun-filled weekend starting on Monday with a lunch at Universal Studios Orlando. Courtesy of Universal Studios, who donated a sound stage, equipment and free passes, the children and their families were able to meet John Cena, Chris Jericho, Mickey James and many more. The children and their families also attended the Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch courtesy of the WWE.

The David Maus Foundation is proud to host the Spring Fling Egg Hunt for the young patients at the Florida Children’s Hospital this Tuesday, March 11th with a fun-filled afternoon of arts and crafts including decorating their own Egg Hunt Bag, an Egg Hunt and other decoration activities. The afternoon will be concluded with a pizza dinner.
